Dr Fiona Hendrie BSc(Hons), BVSc

Fiona attended Melbourne University where she undertook a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree majoring in Zoology. This experience subsequently lead her north to refine her interests with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland. In her years after graduation she worked as a general practitioner in small animal hospitals in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Finally returning to her home town area, Fiona purchased Kingston Veterinary Hospital in 2002. Fiona recognises the importance of continued veterinary education and leads the Hospital in modern therapies with enhanced services for clients and patients. She is a member of a number of professional associations as well as assisting local community ventures and animal welfare services.

Fiona and Jamie have three beautiful children named George, Charlotte and Thomas, a cat called Boo, and 3 cute bunny rabbits that the Easter Bunny 'lent' to the children.

Arthur Dr Arthur Adams BVSc

Arthur is the newest member of our team, joining Kingston Vet in February 2010. Arthur graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1998. His first Veterinary job was in a mixed practice but has concentrated on small animal practice since 2001. Arthur enjoyed time working in England from 2002 until 2009, which was a great experience.

Arthur has returned home to Melbourne, and now completes our Veterinary team as Head Veterinarian at Kingston.

Arthur enjoys all aspects of practice, and the people and pets he gets to meet in our Hospital. Arthur enjoys a round of golf in his spare time, fishing and skiing.

Dr Sara Baldey BSc (Hons) BVSc
 
Sara was born in Mombasa, Kenya, and moved to Australia with her family at the age of four. She grew up in warm, tropical Darwin where she enjoyed a safe, easy going and multicultural lifestyle. Sara completed a Bachelor of Science and Post-Graduate Honours in Organic Chemistry at Northern Territory University. Then, the desire to pursue a career in Veterinary medicine lead her to undertake further tertiary study.

Sara moved to Perth and lived there for five years to complete her Veterinary qualifications at Murdoch University. She started work as a Veterinarian in mixed animal practice in Mildura, Victoria, before moving to Melbourne where she spent time locuming and working in small animal practice. Sara joined the team at Kingston Veterinary Hospital in January 2009 and is quickly growing very fond of the locality, its people and pets!

Sara lives in South Melbourne with her beloved cat “Pushi” and in her spare time loves staying active, catching up with friends and cooking.

Dr Clare Matheson BVSc

Clare joined our Veterinary team at KVH in April 2009 after graduating from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science. Clare enjoys small animal medicine and surgery.

Clare is passionate about the welfare of stray and indigenous dogs, so in 2008 she volunteered with the West Arnhem Land Dog Health Program in the Northern Territory.

In her spare time Clare enjoys spending time with her dogs Harry (an adopted maltese x schitzu) and Ruby (a labrador), camping around Victoria, travelling overseas, and photography.

Dr Meagan Thomas BVSc(Hons)

Meagan started out her working career in banking and finance, working for several years with investment banks in both London and Sydney , before deciding to follow her dream to become a Vet. She studied at Sydney University and during that time worked part time as a Veterinary Nurse in Sydney ’s eastern suburbs.

After graduating from Sydney University, she moved with her partner Steve to Melbourne where they live in Sandringham with Timely and Syllabub, who are retired prize breeding British Shorthair cats.

Meagan loves to keep fit and goes to the local gym whenever she can. She also is a keen Sydney Swans supporter and is looking forward to watching more AFL now she has moved to Melbourne .  

Meagan and Steve have 2 daughers, Jessica and Olivia.

Penny

Penny has been working in the veterinary industry for 16 years, joining Kingston Veterinary Hospital in November 2005.  Prior to KVH, Penny has worked at several practices, ranging from inner Melbourne suburbs through to a specialised equine hospital.  Penny enjoys maintaining high standards of care and has great compassion for our unwell patients.

Penny lives locally with her partner Quentin, their daughter Matilda and a few cats, dogs and lizards.

Amy Amy - Receptionist

Amy joined Kingston Veterinary Hospital late in 2009 to be our full time Receptionist! Amy has nearly 6 years reception experience, however this is the first Veterinary practice she has worked in.

Amy has been doing a wonderful job as the ‘face’ of our Hospital, greeting clients and patients Monday to Saturday. Amy has also been busy learning all of our products and services so that she can assist you the best way possible!

Amy recently moved home from a year in Perth. She loves the challenge of being in a specific field of work and is learning new things everyday. Being able to play with peoples pets in reception has to be the biggest perk of Amy’s job! Amy lives on the Peninsular and has a little black and white Staffy named Ali. He is very spoilt!

Lisa

Lisa commenced work in the veterinary industry here at Kingston Vet in August 2006.  Her bubbly personality makes her a terrific attribute to KVH.  Lisa has two cats at home, Mitty and Bella. Lisa is currently studying her certificate in Veterinary Nursing and hopes to have it completed by the end of 2010, she is also a keen snow boarder so you may see her at Mt Bulla or Mt Hotham!

Lisa is our "senior pet consultant", so if you have any queries about just how old your pet is, or how we can support him better as he gets older, please call Lisa!

Karen Karen

Karen is the newest member of our nursing team, joining us in February 2010. After 7 years working in Insurance she has finally followed her dream of working with animals!

Karen has completed a certificate III in Dog Behavior and Training and is currently completing a certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.

Karen loves to travel, horse-ride and spend time with her boxer, Cooper.

Ingrid

Ingrid joined KVH in August 2009 as our Reception Nurse. After working for 11 years at a veterinary clinic over the other side of town the travel became too much, so she looked closer to home!  Ingrid was already a client here with her cats, so why not work here?  Ingrid lives locally and shares her home with her 4 cats, Sooty, Bubba, Snuffy and Mickey.  (Sooty is pictured above)

Ingrid is our "weight management consultant".

Anny

Anny is our delightful book keeper who enjoys scuba diving and hanging out with her enormous (8 1/2ft long) NT Black Headed Python, Maxsss (pictured above).   Anny joined KVH in 2006.  Anny has scuba dived in many locations such as Airlie Beach, Bahamas, Canada, WW2 Wrecks, Papua New Guinea, Vanuata and many more.  Anny was also a diving instructor in the Cayman Islands for 8 years.
